A Chronicle of America's Freedoms Lost and Freedoms Restored
Talking to any American about how they feel about America will quickly bring you to this statement: "I'm so glad I live in a free country!" I was born here. I've heard this ever since I was little, and I have even said it many times. The more I have learned about recent American politics and history though has taught me that what we have in America today is far from real freedom.
The freedom we have today is minuscule compared to the freedom our forefathers had. Its even shrunken from what it was a decade ago. Today we honor the shell of freedom that remains, but I fear that the core of freedom has escaped us as a people. the purpose of this blog is to chronicle the loss of our freedoms (and the gains) that are happening to us everyday. Hopefully the work put into this history can inspire us all to fight a little harder to preserve the remains of freedom we still have and struggle our way to gain some freedom back.
I am inspired by the words of Patrick Henry who said, "There is no longer any room for hope. If we wish to be free--if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending--if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged, and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained--we must fight! I repeat it, sir, we must fight!" Let us inspire others to echo the statement of Patrick Henry "Give me liberty or give me death" so we can all really be glad to live in a free country.
